TMCO Named Semi-Finalist for Ernst Bacon Award, 2018-19

The Texas Medical Center Orchestra has been selected as a semi-finalist for the Ernst Bacon Award in both the American Music Performance and Overall Performance categories.

For the American Music Performance, TMCO submitted our performance of the Merry Mount Suite by Howard Hanson. For the Overall American Prize category, TMCO submitted two performances including The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Paul Dukas and the Der Rosenkavalier Suite by Richard Strauss.

The Ernst Bacon Memorial Award for the Performance of American Music recognizes and rewards the best performances of American music by ensembles and individual artists worldwide, based on submitted recordings.
